My honest 30-day review of the GlowCo serum
No filters, no favors — here's what actually happened to my skin after a full month of testing the serum that's been all over my feed, the good and the slightly disappointing.
I get sent a lot of skincare. Most of it sits in a drawer for a week before I decide whether it's actually worth talking about. The GlowCo Radiance Serum did not sit in that drawer — it went straight into my routine the night it arrived, and thirty days later, I have genuinely mixed-but-mostly-good feelings I want to lay out honestly, sponsorship or not.
The backstory
GlowCo reached out back in July after noticing I'd mentioned struggling with dullness and some post-summer breakouts on my Stories. Their pitch was simple: try it for a month, post about it only if I actually liked it. That's rare, and it's part of why I said yes. So consider this the actual, unedited outcome of that month — not a script.
What's actually in it
The serum leans on a combination of 10% niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, and a small percentage of vitamin C derivative for brightening, packaged in a matte glass dropper bottle that, shallow as it sounds, made we want to actually use it every night.
"I didn't expect to notice anything before the two-week mark. I noticed something on day six."
Week 1–2: the adjustment period
The first few nights were uneventful in the best way — no stinging, no reaction, just a lightweight layer that sank in before my moisturizer. By day six, my skin looked less tired in photos, which is honestly the bar I care about most given what I do for a living. Texture-wise, a couple of small breakouts along my jaw calmed down faster than they usually do.
Week 3–4: where it either works or it doesn't
This is usually the point where a product either earns a permanent spot in my routine or quietly gets replaced. By week three, the brightening effect was the most noticeable change — not a dramatic "glass skin" transformation, but a consistent, believable improvement in tone that held up under studio lighting, which is a genuinely hard test.
The one thing I didn't love: on two occasions when I doubled up (using it both morning and night during a particularly stressed-out week), I noticed some mild sensitivity. Nothing alarming, but worth mentioning if you have reactive skin — once nightly seems to be the sweet spot.
The quick verdict
- Noticeable brightening within 2 weeks
- Lightweight, layers well under makeup
- Calmed my jawline breakouts faster than usual
- No fragrance, no stinging
- Mild sensitivity if used twice daily
- Dropper design makes it easy to overuse product
- Price point is on the higher side for a first-time buy
Not a miracle product, but a genuinely solid addition to a routine — especially if dullness and uneven tone are what you're trying to fix.
Final thoughts
Thirty days isn't long enough to promise you it'll do the same for your skin — everyone's is different, and I'm not a dermatologist. But it earned a spot on my bathroom shelf past the sponsored window, which is genuinely the only metric that matters to me when I decide whether to keep talking about something.
If you try it, I'd love to know how it goes for you — drop me a message on the contact page or find me on Instagram.
